The Study
The Dachshund's improbable silhouette is pure function: short legs to enter setts, a deep chest for stamina, and a fearsome courage for confronting badgers in the dark. That working heritage survives in a loud baying voice, an insatiable digging instinct and a self-possession entirely out of proportion to its size. Dachshunds are comical, clever and famously headstrong — they train their owners with remarkable efficiency.
